Welcome

I cannot begin to tell you how much fun it is to be the senior pastor at Statesboro First United Methodist Church, and I want to invite you to experience the joy of ministry at this church.

We are located downtown Statesboro on South Main Street close to Pizza Hut. Don’t let the beautiful stone walls or stained glass windows keep you on the outside looking in. This church is filled with people whose hearts are open to welcome you regardless of where you find yourself. If you are looking for a relationship with Christ, we will be honored to introduce you to Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a new church home, we welcome you. If you find yourself feeling isolated and lonely in a busy noisy world, you will find within the walls of our church, people with open hearts who will be there to love and encourage you.

Our doors swing wide open to welcome you. Come as you are, and you will find a worship service, a Sunday School class, small group, or mission team that will help you find your place in our community of faith. Our 8:30 morning worship service meets in the sanctuary and is a small informal traditional service usually without a choir. Our 9:01 worship service is contemporary with a praise band and meets in the social hall. Our 11:00 service in the sanctuary is our formal traditional service with a full choir.

Our minds are open to embrace persons of all ages and races. We are proud that within our walls you will find persons who are diverse.

We are a church that proclaims the unchanging Word of God to a world of constant change. We preach and teach that Jesus Christ died on the Cross to save us from our sins. Through our love and outreach to others, we hope to make a difference in the lives of countless persons in the greater Statesboro area. Our hope is that you would be one of those whose lives would be enriched by the ministry of our church.
