Building a Firm Foundation

Our vision for children's ministry is to build a foundation for life in Christ,
by sharing God's word and spreading God's love.

As we love and care for all children, we want to teach them about God’s love and instill in them a desire to receive, know and walk with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We hope to lay a foundation that leads to a life fulfilled in Jesus. This will carry them through both the joys and trials of life, while making them a light to the world.

Special Events

Throughout the year we offer safe and engaging events for families to have fun and grow together. Check out some of the events we offer...
Christmas Program - Each December our KidsJAM Children's Choir offers a musical program portraying the nativity, the birth of Jesus.

Doggie Days - An afternoon of "doggie play" and fellowship! Bring your friendly dogs for a playdate on the church lawn with special activities and some sweet treats.

Easter Egg Hunt - In the spring, we gather together as a church community, young and old, for a time of fellowship. Immediately following our 11:00 Worship services, we gather for a meal and then the children enjoy searching for Easter eggs.

FaithGirls - a summertime small group for rising 3rd-5th grade girls. Our group often meets at different local attractions offering opportunities to spend time together making crafts, swimming, hearing devotions, and more.

Harvest Festival - Every fall, we offer a large community celebration with interactive games, inflatables, live music, snacks, a petting zoo, and a hayride.

Mission Projects - We work together to help collect supplies, raise funds, and serve various local and global missions efforts.

Nursing Home Visits - We love being able to sing and share snacks and crafts with residents of our local nursing homes.

Vacation Bible School - During Summer break, we spend an action packed week learning lessons from the bible, singing (and dancing to) awesome songs, running around outside, creating amazing crafts, and enjoying some sublime snacks.

Nursery

Childcare offered by Statesboro First United Methodist Church provides a safe and loving environment with care given by hired nursery staff and volunteers who have completed background checks and who follow the Safe Sanctuaries policy adopted by the South Georgia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

The nursery is spread out over several classrooms providing separate spaces for children to be cared for by age group. Snacks of Goldfish Crackers and Graham Crackers are provided to each child. We welcome sippy cups and bottles with the child's name on them.

The Nursery on Sunday Mornings

Childcare is available in the nursery on Sunday mornings from 8:30AM-12:30PM for families who attend any of our Worship services or Sunday School classes.

The Nursery on Wednesday Nights

Childcare is available in the nursery on Wednesday nights from 6:00PM-7:30PM for families who attend Wednesday Night Activities.

Kids Worship

Children in Pre-K through 3rd Grade are invited to go to Kids Worship each week! Children are dismissed from 9:01, 11:00 Traditional, and Revive about 15 minutes into the service. That means they get to experience a bit of the "grown-up" worship service with their parents, but then get to go to their own special space where they sing, play games, and have a bible lesson with their peers.

Wednesday Night Activities for Children

Children’s Ministry activities are from 6:15-7:30PM. This year children will rotate with their age-group through the following stations throughout the evening: KidsJAM, KidsPLAY, and KidsLEARN.
KidsJAM in Room 306 is our Children’s Music Program led by Eastyn Durrence. We will have opportunities throughout the year to sing in worship and participate in seasonal programs. Look for more details about upcoming events in the church newsletter.

KidsPLAY is a time for games and activities led by volunteers outside under the Tent.

KidsLEARN in Room 201 is a time led by Jodie Hendrix where kids hear a Bible lesson and participate in indoor activities related to the lesson.
