Sundays @ 10am
One of the most important parts of Statesboro First United Methodist Chruch is building community and learning together. Empowerment is a key concept in our mission statement. We offer a variety of Sunday school classes to do just that.

Adult Sunday School Classes

Statesboro First offers a variety of Sunday School classes for every age group, with a variety of studies.
Many of our Adult Sunday School classes are held on our 2nd floor, which can be accessed through any of three stairwells and the elevator.

Coming out of the elevator, head straight down the long carpeted hallway to find most of our classes, unless otherwise noted below.

The Flock

Adults 30s & 40s
Led by Russ & Emilie Taulbee and Robert Benson, we focus on Bible study relating to couples & families.

Bruce Yawn Class

Adults ages 50s & 60s
Led by Ellen & Joey Cowart and named in honor of longtime teacher Bruce Yawn, we study Family, Bible history, Relationships, and other various topics.

Joy Seekers

Singles & Couples 40s - 60s.
Led by Debbie Walker.
Our class is seeking Jesus for others and ourselves. We do this through Bible study and class discussion. We enjoy fellowship with each other through social events - Our Super Bowl Party is a long standing tradition!

Living Faith

Adults ages 50 - 70
Led by Michele Barton.
We are Living Faith because that is what we aspire to do - live out our faith as followers of Jesus in our world today.

Student Sunday School

From 9th Grade to 12th Grade, students can participate in Sunday School at 10am - 10:50.
Students meet in the Youth Room on the 3rd floor.

Children's Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School is a small group time where young people learn the foundational Bible Stories and fun discussions.
Classes are divided into three age groups and meet from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM.

PreK - Second Grades in Room 210
Third - Fifth Grades in Room 209
Middle School in Room 307
